As a working mother of four school children, host Katharina Schnitzer-Zach sees the reconciliation of private and professional life as a very personal concern. Therefore, various measures have been taken at Hotel Zach to ensure that the team has the best possible balance of private obligations and professional practice in all stages of life (education, parental leave, care of relatives...).
Certified family-friendly employer
In 2021, we received certification from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Family as a family-friendly employer and were successfully re-certified in 2025. What does this mean? We invest in long-term employment relationships, grant vacations even in the high season, close the hotel on Christmas days, enable professional training while working and respect different needs at different stages of life - regardless of gender, origin and marital status. Thus, we enable parental leave for both fathers and mothers, part-time positions, provide changing tables even in the men's toilet and we think it's perfectly fine if someone prefers to choose a four-legged friend as a family member rather than having a child.
